Economic Development Division

As the catalyst for business development, the Bozeman Area Chamber of Commerce strives to offer our members the tools and resources they need to succeed, expand and grow. We work in collaboration with a number of other entities who share our vision – including, but not limited to the City of Bozeman Economic Development Council, Montana State University, Gallatin College, City of Bozeman, County of Gallatin, Small Business Development Center and more than 20 other organizations. The purpose of this division is to help current Bozeman and Gallatin County businesses expand and to attract new businesses to Bozeman and Gallatin County.

Goals:

  • Work with local businesses on expansion opportunities and be a resource for new businesses looking to relocate to Bozeman and Gallatin County.

Objective:

  • Economic Development partnerships which include but not limited to: Prospera Business Network, Gallatin County, The City of Bozeman, Gallatin Association of Realtors, Southwest Montana Building Industry Association and Montana State University, Gallatin College, etc. to create opportunities for business growth, development and recruitment.
  • Meet with local businesses over the course of the year to learn about business expansion opportunities, retention and employment needs.

Goals:

  • Develop a short term & long term economic development strategy to assure the economic vitality of the Gallatin Valley Business Community.

Objective:

  • Create Economic Development Fund.
  • Quarterly economic business development update.
  • Tax Increment Finance Districts, Targeted Economic Development & other business incentives.

Goals:

  • Work with MSU, Gallatin College and Board of Regents to secure funding for new facility.

Objective:

  • Form public/private partnerships to access programming needs and facility needs.
  • Work with elected officials regarding Gallatin County's needs.
  • Work with MSU regarding new facility funding/location.

Goals:

  • Identify current and future infrastructure needs of the community.

Objective:

  • Continue to work with Yellowstone Fiber to address broadband needs.
  • Identify areas of improvement that are needs for future development.
  • Work with all local and state government agencies to identify infrastructure needs and funding.

Goals:

  • Improve and expand transportation services in the Gallatin Valley.

Objective:

  • Improve & provide adequate public transportation service in Gallatin Valley via Urban Transportation District.
  • Support existing air service & continue to expand current air service.
  • Work with state, city and county officials on future transportation planning issues.

Goals:

  • Enhance training programs to attract qualified workforce in Bozeman & Gallatin County.

Objective:

  • American Jobs for Americas Youth MT
  • Workforce certification/degrees:
    • Building and construction trade
    • Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning
    • Other certification needs as identified
    • Recruitment of Montana High School Graduates
  • Workforce Daycare
  • Workforce Housing / Lodging / Transportation
  • Work with Montana State University, Gallatin College and Bozeman High School District 7 to establish educational/training synergies to further develop Gallatin County workforce.
