It was an exciting day at the Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport as Brian Springer announced the addition of a 16th direct flight to Bozeman and a new major airline coming to Montana for the first time. JetBlue Airways will begin seasonal service with two weekly flights from Bozeman to California’s Long Beach Airport, starting next winter. This addition will be the seventh airline serving the Bozeman market and will provide easy access to Montana for the Greater Los Angeles area and San Diego’s North County.

This announcement would not be possible without the support of Bozeman’s air service partners which include the Bozeman Area Chamber of Commerce, the Bozeman Tourism Business Improvement District, Big Sky Resort, the Yellowstone Club, Lone Mountain Land Company and Yellowstone Country. Since 2010 these partners have helped grow Bozeman’s direct flights from four to sixteen and established Bozeman as one of the country’s fastest growing airports. Without their support, flights like these would not be possible.

"Yellowstone Club is thrilled to welcome JetBlue Airways at the BZN airport. The economy is continuing to thrive in Bozeman and Big Sky and another direct flight will be beneficial for all of the businesses in our communities." Hans Williamson, Yellowstone Club VP and General Manager

“We are excited to see JetBlue bring their fantastic brand to Montana with the addition of service between Bozeman and Long Beach,” said Scott Humphrey, Deputy Airport Director.

The number of passengers traveling through the Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport has grown from 730,420 in 2010 to 1.2 million in 2017, and is expected to surpass that total for 2018. This growth has helped drive economic gains and increases in tourism spending in the Gallatin Valley, supporting numerous local businesses and providing locals easier access to travel destinations outside of Montana.

A big help in making Bozeman a popular destination has been the marketing efforts of our Only in Bozeman and Far From Ordinary marketing campaigns, which introduce Bozeman and Montana to markets across the country. Both campaigns have been very successful in engaging potential visitors and sharing the recreational, cultural, and scenic opportunities available here in the greater Bozeman area.

JetBlue’s flights to Bozeman will operate on Thursdays and Sundays beginning December 16th with a 2:27 p.m. arrival and a 3:12 p.m. departure from Bozeman. The summer schedule for 2019 is under currently in development, but we anticipate flights operating from mid-June through early September. JetBlue will operate these flights with a 150 seat Airbus A320 aircraft in a one-class configuration with JetBlue’s inflight entertainment system at each seat back, including Wi-Fi.

We are excited for the new partnership with JetBlue Airways and we look forward to welcoming new visitors starting in December.
