As many Bozeman residents know, Bozeman’s beautiful scenery, proximity to Yellowstone National Park, vast selection of outdoor activities, and friendly atmosphere draw tourists to Montana from all around the world. Whether people visit Bozeman for a trip to Yellowstone or to cheer on the Bobcats, tourism directly impacts the economic welfare of the city.

To capitalize on this economic growth from tourism and adjust for the influx of incoming visitors, the Bozeman Area Chamber of Commerce has appointed Briana Wolfe as the Director of Tourism and Sales. This new position focuses on Chamber membership sales and retention as well as tourism, but the primary focus is on developing plans to improve upon the tourism industry of Bozeman.

Concerning tourism, the current goal is compiling information on the hotel spaces in Bozeman, such as available meeting space, inventory of rooms and room types in each hotel, and whether the hotel offers onsite food and beverage options. Collecting this information will ultimately provide access to a digital meeting planners guide. This guide will also include information on transportation, dining, unique venues, and recreational activities.

Wolfe is also working with hotels to assist them in discovering what their niche market is and how this can be beneficial. This includes pinpointing their unique needs, preferences, identity, and what sets them apart from other hotels in the area.

Moving forward, the focus on tourism will shift to bringing new events to the area and promoting the hotel and sports industries of Bozeman, which will overall improve the economic growth of a wide variety of businesses and individuals residing in Bozeman.
