Economic Development Committees

As the catalyst for business development, the Bozeman Area Chamber of Commerce strives to offer our members the tools and resources they need to succeed, expand and grow. We work in collaboration with a number of other entities who share our vision – including, but not limited to the City of Bozeman Economic Development Council, Montana State University, Gallatin College, City of Bozeman, County of Gallatin, Small Business Development Center and more than 20 other organizations. business & industry recruitment committee

chair: David Fine - City of Bozeman

  • Economic Development partnerships which include but not limited to: Prospera Business Network, The Bozeman Area Chamber of Commerce, Gallatin County, The City of Bozeman, Gallatin Association of Realtors, Southwest Montana Building Industry Association and Montana State University, Gallatin College, etc. to create opportunities for business growth, development and recruitment.
  • Enhance existing industry and commerce into the community.
  • Recruit new businesses to Bozeman & Gallatin County.

business & industry retention committee

chair: Brit Fontenot - City of Bozeman

  • Meet with local businesses over the course of the year to learn about business expansion opportunities, retention and employment needs.
  • Work with local businesses to address challenges and opportunities for expansion in the community. 

economic growth & business development committee

chair: Daryl Scheliem - BACC

  • Create Economic Development Fund
  • Economic Gardening
  • Finalizing input for Unified Development Code Rewrite
  • Foreign Trade Zone, Tax Increment Finance Districts & other business incentives.
  • Develop a short term & long term economic development strategy to assure the economic vitality of the Gallatin Valley Business Community.

transportation commitee

chair: Brian Sprenger - Gallatin Airport Authority
co-chair: Craig Woolard - City of Bozeman

  • Improve & provide adequate public transportation service in Gallatin County.
  • Support existing air service & continue to expand current air service
  • Work with state, city and county officials on future transportation planning issues.
  • Improve and expand transportation services in the Gallatin Valley.

utilities committee

chair: Craig Woolard - City of Bozeman

  • Continue to work with Bozeman Fiber Inc. to address broadband needs.
  • Identify areas of improvement that are needed for future development.
  • Work with all utility companies that service Bozeman and Gallatin County area to identify current status of utilities.
  • Identify current and future needs of the community to ensure high quality utilities.

  • Identify quality and quantity of workforce in skilled, entry level positions.
  • Work with Montana State University, Gallatin College and Bozeman ISD to establish educational synergies to further develop Gallatin County workforce.
